Katyayani Samhar | Bt Bio Larvicide Liquid | Bio Pesticide

Description

Product Description

Katyayani Samhar (Bt Bio Larvicide) is a Bio insecticide containing Bacillus thuringiensis, it is a Liquid formulation. It effectively controls a wide range of insect larval pests through stomach (Ingestion) action by disrupting the Gut of insect larvae but rupturing the internal tissue and leads to stop feeding of insects which causes death of the pest.

Target pests of Bt Bio Larvicide

The target pests of Bt Bio larvicide insecticide are all types of larval pests such as Tobacco Caterpillar, Corn borer, Stem borer, Fruit borer, Pod borer, Shoot borer, Rice leaf roller, Leaf eating caterpillar, Cotton bollworm, Cotton bridgeworm, Tea caterpillar, Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera pests such as tea looper, pine caterpillars, and spiny moths.

Target crops of Bt Bio Larvicide

Bacillus Thuringiensis Kurstaki is the best larvicide for crops like Cotton, Paddy, Cabbage, Chickpea, okra, Tomato, Cauliflower, Chilli, Gram, Pigeon pea, Soybean, Tobacco, Castor, Teak, red gram, and many other crops.

Mode of Action of Bt Bio Larvicide

Bt Bio Larvicide plays an important role in plant pest control as well as in Organic Agriculture. Bacillus thuringiensis pesticide mainly targets the larval pest by:

  • Spore Ingestion: Bt exists in the environment as spores. When insect larvae ingest plant material containing Bt spores, they ingest the spores along with it.
  • Spore Activation: The alkaline pH (high pH) in the insect's midgut dissolves the Bt spores, releasing the protein crystals.
  • Protoxin Activation: The insect's gut enzymes cleave the protein crystals into smaller protoxins. Now in an active state, these are called Bt toxins or Cry toxins.
  • Binding to Midgut Cells: Bt toxins bind to specific receptors on the midgut epithelial cells of susceptible insects.
  • Pore formation: Binding triggers the toxins to insert themselves into the cell membrane of the midgut cells, forming pores.
  • Cell Lysis: These pores disrupt the midgut cell membrane, causing the cells to lyse (burst).
  • Death of Insect: Lysis of midgut cells disrupts the insect's digestive system, leading to starvation and ultimately, death of the insect larvae.

Application and Dosage of Bacillus thuringiensis

The application method of Bt Bio Larvicide in crop field by Spraying.

  • For gardening use: 5 -10 ml/Litre of water
  • For Agriculture use: 1 -2 litre /acre

Precautions of Bt Bio Larvicide

  • The application period is generally 2 to 3 days earlier than the use of chemical pesticides, which has a good effect on the young larvae of pests.
  • The temperature of using Bacillus thuringiensis insecticide should be above 18℃, and it should be applied in the evening to exert its best insecticidal effect. The effect of spraying above 30℃ is the best.
  • Apply Bt larvicide every 10-15 days for continued control.
